The Uniview IPT428AIX is a 4MP turret dome IP camera built around a simple goal: keep footage in color for as long as possible, even as the light disappears. Its LightHunter illumination technology holds full-color imaging down to 0.003 lux, well past the point where most cameras drop to grayscale, so detail — clothing color, vehicle color — stays visible in dusk, dawn, and near-dark conditions rather than being lost the moment the sun goes down.

When light drops further, the camera falls back on a smart IR LED system rated for 0 lux operation up to 98 feet, giving it dependable coverage through full darkness as well. Video is captured at 2688 x 1520 (4MP) resolution through a fixed 2.8mm lens, and encoded with H.265 compression — a meaningfully more efficient codec than H.264 that cuts bandwidth and storage needs without sacrificing image quality, an important factor for sites running many cameras or long retention windows. True day/night switching with an IR cut filter and Digital WDR keep exposure balanced across mixed lighting, from a shaded doorway to a sunlit driveway in the same frame.
