Description

The Alarm.com ADC-V530 is built around a problem most indoor cameras never fully solve: the tension between wanting coverage while away and not wanting a lens pointed at you while home. It’s Alarm.com’s first indoor camera with a built-in physical privacy shutter that mechanically closes over the lens — not a software mute, but a visible, trustable barrier — and it can be triggered manually or automated to close on a schedule or when a security system disarms, so the camera only watches when it’s actually meant to.

Video quality is a step up from Alarm.com’s earlier indoor line: 4MP HDR resolution up to 2688 x 1520, a 110° field of view wide enough to cover most rooms from a single placement, and color night vision through an integrated LED spotlight alongside standard IR (up to ~15 feet). Full-duplex two-way audio allows for natural, talk-over-each-other conversation through the camera rather than a one-at-a-time walkie-talkie exchange. For recording, the V530 supports onboard storage via microSD card and integrates with an Alarm.com Stream Video Recorder (SVR) for larger systems, both searchable through Smart View — a timeline that lets you jump straight to specific events like a person detected or a door accessed, instead of scrubbing through footage manually.

On the analytics side, the V530 goes beyond basic person/vehicle/animal detection with Business Activity Analytics, giving commercial users insight into foot traffic and activity patterns, alongside the object detection Alarm.com’s other cameras use for smarter, more relevant alerts. Perimeter Guard® and manually triggered warning sounds round out its deterrence features. The camera connects over dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4/5 GHz) and can also run over Ethernet using a separate USB-C to Ethernet adapter, giving installers flexibility between wireless convenience and wired reliability, and it ships with an ADC power adapter in the box.
