Oracode 480i Deadbolt
The Oracode 480i Deadbolt by Dormakaba is a keyless, deadbolt-only lock with a 1″ solid brass bolt that retrofits into existing deadbolt prep with no new holes. It offers unique 6-digit guest codes, 128 user capacity, and a 5,000-event audit trail, with remote management through Oracode Live (Optional Smart Controller and subscription required).
Description
If your doors already have a working handle or latch and you only want to add keyless control, the Oracode 480i Deadbolt is the simplest way into the Oracode system. Unlike the 660i, which combines a deadbolt and lever, the 480i is a deadbolt-only unit. It replaces the existing deadbolt, so your current knob or lever stays in place and you skip the cost and disruption of swapping the whole lockset. Guests, staff, and vendors each get a unique 6-digit code instead of a key, so lost keys and rekeying between stays stop being a problem.

Here’s what to check before buying. Deadbolt-only means deadbolt-only. You still need a separate latch or handle for the door, and dormakaba’s installation guide specifically warns that the lock is not designed for emergency exit doors. If you need a lever and deadbolt in one unit, or free egress hardware, look at the 660i instead.
The “i” in 480i is the online version, and its remote features depend on the Oracode Smart Controller plus an active Oracode Live subscription, both sold separately. In exchange you get remote code creation, cancellation, and stay extensions, plus real-time notifications by email, SMS, or the live events feed. Examples include Guest First Arrival and Guest Early Checkout, with alerts for Low Battery and Internet Down. Dormakaba also notes that time-sensitive codes can still be issued when the property’s internet or power is down. The lock supports 128 users across multiple access levels and keeps the last 5,000 events in its own memory.
Bottom line: choose the 480i if you manage vacation rentals, corporate housing, or apartments with existing handles you want to keep, and you want a fast retrofit with remote code control. Skip it for exit doors or any door that needs a combined lever and lock.
