Oracode 660i Mortise Lock
The Oracode 660i Mortise Lock by dormakaba gives vacation rentals and apartments keyless entry with a 1″ solid deadbolt and unique time-sensitive PINs. Property managers can create, cancel, or extend guest codes remotely through Oracode Live (Optional Smart Controller and subscription required), with a 5,000-event audit trail for accountability.
Description
If you manage vacation rentals, corporate housing, or apartments and you’re tired of rekeying doors or chasing lost keycards, the Oracode 660i Mortise Lock is built for that job. It’s the online version of dormakaba’s Oracode 660 series. Guests get a unique, time-sensitive 6-digit PIN generated through the Oracode Live web software instead of a key or card. Each installation has its own permanent site code, so a PIN from one property won’t work at another. For a mortise lock, you get a 1″ solid deadbolt, which is a sturdier mechanical footing than the lighter latches on many keypad-only products.
On the day-to-day side, the 660i is designed to behave like a mechanical lock that happens to be electronic. Egress through the interior handle is free at all times. The electronics are fully sealed, with no exposed components. Lock settings and the audit trail survive battery changes, and the lock holds its time and setup for up to four weeks without power. It runs on three AA batteries, with roughly 18 months of life on the online version, shorter than the 2-3 years quoted for standalone models because of the wireless link. Access is managed through 128 access levels (guest, housekeeping, master, and so on), and the last 5,000 events are stored in the lock for accountability. A tamper shutdown discourages code guessing, and one million possible code combinations make brute-force attempts impractical.
For specifiers and installers, the details worth checking against your door prep: mortise versions come in American Standard (1″ and 1-1/4″) and European Standard options, and in standard and slim body sizes, with stainless steel faceplates standard on all finishes. An interior thumbturn is optional if you want guest privacy. The lock carries Florida approval FL13061.1 for High Velocity Hurricane Zone installations in qualifying configurations, so confirm your exact model if you’re building in a coastal code area. Fire-rating details vary by model, so verify them for your door. If you run a property management platform, the 660i is also listed as compatible with the Seam API, which can make integration easier.
Finishes include Satin Chrome, Oil-Rubbed Bronze, and Satin Brass, with availability varying by model.
Bottom line: choose the 660i Mortise if you manage multiple units, want to issue and revoke guest codes without visiting the property, and have doors already prepped for mortise hardware. If you want a one-time purchase with no subscription, look at the standalone Oracode 660 instead.
